Looking at my August 2026 blog posts

This is going be a short blog post

I wanted to take a step back and look at how much I've typed and posted so far. And I have to say I'm quite happy so far. The reasons why I even wanted to do this in the first place is because I had a lot to share but I held back because I wanted to put it in a video format. But then I realize that is never going to happen.

I think the reasons why I no longer want to make videos comes in two ways. One, it takes quite a long time to put together a video, and two, I'd pay too much attention to what others are doing rather than focusing on myself.

The fact I make these blog posts on my very own websites is amazing. There is no silly moderation tool to stop me from posting. Sure I do not post anything extreme, but if you ever looked into YouTube, you can find the most PG friendly content creators getting some sort of community guideline strike or something ridiculous.

I never cared about the numbers. The view count, subscriber count, and any other nonsense that YouTube wants you to care about. It is nice that Twitch's dashboard allows streamers to disable the numbers by directly clicking on the numbers, this allows the streamers to focus on making genuine content instead of desperately pandering.

Let's see ...

Ignoring my first test blog post ... I've posted 13 blogs. Looking at the word count is crazy to me. I never knew that I had some sort of energy to type so much. However I wonder if it had to with the mechanical keyboard I've purchased. Right now I am typing on a hall effect switches instead of optical or membrane and sometimes I switch to a different keyboard that has the usual mechanical switches.

Honestly I feel great about writing all of this. It was about time I've done it.

The next blog post

So right now I've been working on my next blog about my YouTube addiction. However after taking a break from writing it for a day or two, I realize the blog is very ranty. Too much complaining rather than talking about solutions. I felt like it was straying off course. So what I'll have to do is cut almost 70 percent of the writing and just summarize what I dislike about the platform, and again, focus on the solutions.

What I might do, is have a separate page about YouTube. Like-wise I'll put a disclaimer that reading it is completely optional.

My challenge on September

I thought about doing this for a long time. It's happening. On this month I'll be removing my wi-fi chip inside my laptop and hiding my wi-fi adapter just in case I need access to my computer.

The odd challenge is to find a way to keep posting these blogs.

The goal is to be more offline by focusing more on my projects such as my webcomics, blogs, and of course more personal matters that needed to be resolved.

I hope to read more books as well. The only device I've allowed access to the internet is my old Boox e-ink tablet. This small 6-inch display can at least allow me to read books but also check e-mails.

How long will I survive the challenge? I don't know. We'll see.
